John ‘Jack’ Howell

EVERETT – John “Jack” Howell died March 16, 2024, in Everett. He was 97.

Born Feb. 3, 1927, in Forest City, Iowa, he attended college, served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a mathematician.

He married Penelope Howell Feb. 4, 1961, at St. James Cathedral in Seattle.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Seattle. He volunteered for many years as a driver for disabled people and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is remembered for his integrity, hard work, kindness and selflessness, as well as his quick wit and infectious laughter.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Penny Howell; sons Tom (Glenda) Howell and Stephen Howell, daughters Barbara Howell and Mary (Tom) Jones, and grandchildren Kyle and Spencer Howell and Michael and Mikayla Sincavage.

A funeral and celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. June 27 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bothell. Interment was April 22, 2024, at Calvary Cemetery in Seattle.
